new frames and....

I am so excited to say i won first place in a photo contest i entered for Firefly Frames. they are an awesome frame company i just found and am so thrilled that i will be offering their beautiful frames! what is really cool is that i will be their only vendor for my area (within a 50 mile radius), so no one else can offer these exquisite frames! a few days after finding them i found a photo contest on their blog which offered the winner automatic vendor set-up, a 11x14 4-inch curved frame, and 5 color samples with trim. check out their site to see these awesome frames i will be offering to my clients, which you can't get anywhere else around ;)

our own thanksgiving...

today was an awesome day here at home! even though it was just us four, we made it our own and spent precious time together creating our delicious thanksgiving dinner. we probably made enough to last us all week, but i was so excited this year at taking a spin at creating my first thanksgiving dinner. the turkey turned out juicy and wonderful -watched a few videos for some tips on foodnetwork.com -, the homemade mac and cheese tasted great, the mashed potatoes were nice and creamy, the dressing was perfect -which was also a first for me!- and the pumpkin gingerbread trifle was to dieeee for, thanks to good ol' paula deen! we were, and still, are STUFFED! even though we missed being around our families or some friends, we still had the best thanksgiving i think we've ever had. it was so memorable...us all cooking together and laughing. alayna had been so siked all week for the big day! it was just blessed. hope you all had just a great of a day with your families!

change of plans...

okay, i thought we were coming after thanksgiving, but we decide not to. our car is acting up a bit and david doesn't want me to chance it. so we will be having our own little dinner here and relaxing. i'm actually pretty excited that i get to make my very own thanksgiving dinner all by myself...well actually with david's help also!
sorry to cancel on anyone wanting pictures...the next time we'll be down will be at Christmas and of course we will only be there a couple of days. maybe toward the spring?

our little family...

i was so excited that john and deanna were able to come visit us this last weekend. we had alot of fun and i think they could see why we loved living here so much! i knew i wanted deanna to snap a few family pics of us while they were here in my studio, and she did an awesome job! i also took a few of alayna and david and the girls together as well. some of you may know that i have two 30x40 blk. and wh. prints of david and alayna, and of me and whitney from a couple of years ago. we wanted to reenact those same poses and update the big pictures. it's so sweet, but so sad to see how they have grown! below are old & update versions. i'm so totally in love with my new family pictures! thanks again deanna!

VOTE 2008..

yesterday was so exciting to see the end to this very long and controversial election. we went as a family last night to our middle school's library to cast our ballot. alayna also got to experience this very historic part in our nation's history! she took part in a Kid's Vote and was able to fill out a real ballot and place it in a box to be counted. it was so cute and made me happy that she was learning and in a way partaking in our country's democracy. (and believe me, if i'd have know about it ahead of time i would have brought my camera!) she also got a coupon for free pizza for voting!...wish i got one for voting! lol

so when she got up this morning i was watching the news which was talking about the new elect-president.
i said, "look alayna, we voted last night for a new president and Obama won!"
she then says,"you mean i didn't win?!"
